Music Composition & Teaching
about me
I've been a creative person for as long as I can remember- starting with piano at five, and painting even before that. Teaching piano since I was sixteen- to students anywhere from five years old to over sixty- taught me a lot about patience and about reading what someone actually means when they can't quite put it into words. Product design ended up feeling like a natural next step, since it's really the same instinct: understanding what people need, and then using my skills to build it.
This instinct is also what got me through a rocky start at university. First year, I didn't really understand how any of it worked yet, but I stuck with it, and now I average 80-90% and made the Dean's List for 24-25. Outside of my degree, I keep making things- composing music, digital art, and most recently getting into bookbinding. I try to take the same care with my body as I do with my work, so early runs, the gym, and badminton with friends are part of the routine too. If there's one thread running through all of this, it's that I notice a gap and go and do something about it- whether that's a skill, a habit, or just showing up somewhere new.
